Holistic approach

Posted by notsleepingagain on July 02, 2008 at 05:46:44:

I have been encouraged to see some people who have mentioned looking at hormonal imbalances and some possible holistic approaches to insomnia. I had an appt. yesterday with the nurse at an all-natural (holistic) office. Instead of blood tests, they do urine and saliva which they say gives a much better picture of what is going on in a person's body. Some key concerns for women, especially in the peri-menopause stages (late 30's, early 40's) are low progesterone and adrenal fatigue. I will be doing a more comprehensive saliva test on day 20 of my cycle, which will show the levels of the 5 key hormones. I am hopeful this will give me answers to many years of questions and reoccurring insomnia. Once the results come in, I will have an all natural cream type compound mixed just for me by a pharmacist. In the meantime, the nurse suggested I take an all-natural product called isocort to support the adrenal system. Anyone else out there on this path? Mindi
