can't sleep with partner--help!

Posted by electracat on July 02, 2008 at 12:33:44:

i have a long history of poor sleep, tiredness, etc. I've never been a GREAT sleeper with partners, but i've done it. Now, however, i've begun a new thing: any little movement of the bed, or my partner, wakes me up, or prevents me from sleeping. And my partner is my boyfriend of 4 years! I can sleep on big, pillowy beds that don't move at all, with him, but suddenly can't sleep with him on a slightly shaky, bouncy bed (like ours).

He is understanding, and he just sleeps in the other room, but i wonder: Will this be forever? Should i be 'working' on sleeping better with him? I'm just afraid of getting a worse night's sleep than usual. Since it's a fairly recent thing, am i just 'over-sensitive' right now and it'll sort itself out later? I would hate to think we can't sleep together for the rest of our lives!

does anyone else share this problem? Thanks for any replies! :)
