You may want to find out what is keeping your from having sound, deep sleep where it is difficult to be awakened. There are several sleep disorders that can cause light sleep.

You could take the sleep test, however, with the complaint of insomnia it is a good idea to talk to a sleep specialist. They should be able to tease out what is causing the insomnia and once treated, no more insomnia.
