Ollie-

first off, I think that it's so very sweet that you are posting out of love and concern for your wife. Very touching!

I personally feel that belief or disbelief in anything can help or hinder its effectiveness. Cairo can tell you best but I think she should stick with Remeron a little longer if you both feel that it's the right med for her. If she doesn't believe it will work, it probably won't.

If anxiety is her main problem, maybe she needs a short-term solution for anxiety that will help get her back on track. I do agree that CBT is great but sometimes one needs a little extra help.

I guess you really need to get to the core of her sleep issue. It will pass but you need to first figure out if the core issue is anxiety or sleep. I'm guessing that it's anxiety about sleep at this point. If so, I recommend that you talk to the doctor about an anti-anxiety short term med. If you address the core issue, I think you will see improvement!
