Posted by electracat on December 03, 2008 at 14:44:55:i've had 20 years of poor (no 3/4 stage) sleep. When i get tired during the day, it gets worse and worse to the point where i want to cut my head off--it's almost painful, though i can't really call it pain. The ONLY thing that alleviates it is to lie down and try to sleep. Even a minute of sleep can help.
However, if i let the tiredness continue, it gets to a point of 'overtiredness'--it's like the tiredness has receded deep within me, and though i'm intensely uncomfortable and i have trouble keeping my eyes open (due to the discomfort), i can't sleep. There's like a wall between me and sleep. I honestly don't think it's an anxiety thing (this part, anyway)--it's something deeply physical. My body almost feels revved up, but i can't even explain the discomfort from the tiredness inside. Ugh. Hard to describe! And i can only try to sleep--if i get up, my eyes/head start to hurt again, and i have to lie down. When i finally do drift off, my night's sleep is about 10% of the depth of a night where i don't get overtired--and i wake up exhausted again.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
