When I was in the pits of the insomnia monster's belly I had anxiety at night AND in the
day. The whole day my stomach would be in knots...dreading the night that was to come.
I had a lot of acid reflux from the whole thing. It would feel like I was holding my breath
and sucking my stomach in the whole day. Ritualistic duties preparing for bed, like
brushing teeth made me anxious and stricken with fear. But evenutally when I decided not
to let insomnia control my life and changed my thinking...those anxieties went away. I
dont even think about insomnia anymore (in a negative light anway). I remember watching
movies and not even remembering the movie because I was thinking about insomnia the
whole time...and how I would try and sleep that night. When you get over this bump...as
Im 100% sure you will, your anxiety will dissipate as well. Just takes time and a lot of hard
work (mental). I still keep some xanax and ambien in the drawer just in case....just like
you it makes me feel better.
