72 hours and counting...

Posted by CDarLynn on November 29, 2008 at 14:59:29:

I have been awake more than 72 hours and this is so ridiculous... I cannot sleep... I've tried so hard... I have such weird sleeping patterns. I can sleep for 18 hours in a day for a whole month and then all the sudden not be able to sleep at all for days at a time. Does anyone know what causes this? Its like when I sleep those 18 hours a day, it's like I am seriously comatose. Like I can't move, I can't think, I'm so lethargic. I like sit there a beg myself to get out of bed, but I physically cannot move... it feels like something is physically sitting on top of me. And when I'm awake for those days at a time it's like no matter what I do, nyquil, melatonin, tylenol PM, benadryl, ambien, nothing works. I dont take ambien anymore, because I dont want to take any prescription medications. But I try all the others and I just get sick of lying in bed, waiting to fall asleep so I just constantly move for hours on end. I almost get obsessive... I start writing out charts, and calendars, and preparing meals days in advance. I also get impulsive at this point in my life, this is when I'm more likely to do stupid things... i dont really act like myself either. I'm always swearing and I refuse to read my Bible, and I start to get mad at people really easily... I loose my temper, and can't stand to be around people.

This didn't really start till I stopped taking psychiatric meds for depression. (by order of a doctor). And then all the sudden I can't function right... its really weird, does anyone have any idea whats going on?
