I'm not a therapist but: You need to find a therapist that you trust, who has experience helping people who've experienced trauma. Or, a group of survivors of trauma that meets regularly and you feel safe with. (Or a web forum of survivors that's like this one, who share their experiences). Your sleep problems are a symptom of the traumas you've experienced. You have to deal with your feelings, mind, and spirit, and how they've been affected, because those are at the root of the difficulties you're experiencing with your body. You're not alone, and there's others like you who are having a terrible time sleeping because of things they've witnessed and experienced.

Have you looked at any of the books on PTSD and how our bodies somatize trauma? Someone recommended one not long ago on this forum, and I've looked for the name, but I can't find it. Hopefully, someone will read this and post the title.

You can talk about any part of your life, even how your day went, on this site, if you find that helpful. Everyone is here to listen. I hope others will respond to your post and offer their advice.
