I agree with Cairo it would be wise to be assessed for bipolar disorder. It's not the only reason that you might be experiencing these swings in sleep patterns, but it's a fit for what you've described. It's unusual to swing between insomnia and hypersomnia.

It's possible to have hypomania, which is a milder form of mania. This could be missed by clinicians evaluating you in hospitals. Medication for depression is known to trigger manic or hypomanic episodes in people with undiagnosed bipolar disorder, who haven't yet had one of these episodes. It's one of the risks of medicating for depression.
