Thanks for sharing that. I agree with you that cognitive interventions are very effective for many things. I think doctors/therapists embrace CBT for everything because it's a take-charge approach (and we live in such a take-charge, do-it-yourself society, with a step-by-step formula for fixing everything, from your leaky roof to your ailing love life), and because the alternative (healing) is mysterious, possibly too strongly associated with the spiritual and religious, and takes time.

I'm really glad you brought up the subject of healing. I'm so interested in peoples' experiences of healing and transformation. Would you tell me more about what you found to be healing for you in this experience?
