Extra Sleep Worth Meds?

Curious. Would most folks take an assured 6 1/2 hours fairly good sleep with the help of a Benzo (Ativan) or be happy with 5 or so hours with no meds? By the way, what are we talking about in terms of amount of sleep average for folks afflicted with ongoing insomnia?
