how do you while away the hours?

Posted by F43 on March 15, 2009 at 13:31:32:

Inspired by wolverine's post (hello kindred spirit) to Jackson's question about whether to medicate or not for an extra 90 minutes of sleep, here is a companion question. If you are the lucky sort who gets to spend many, many hours awake during the night (who knew there could be so many hours in a single night?), how do you enjoy passing those nether hours? Do you ponder life's mysteries, such as why you have been chosen to experience insomnia? Do you work on tensing and relaxing different muscles groups, while listening to soothing music? Do you try to muster up some kind of energy and concentration to wash your dishes without breaking them?

I recently decided that I need to have something repetitive and non-thinking to do to pass the time, fussy enough to bore me but not enough to stimulate me. Some kind of busy thing with my hands. Since I don't knit or crochet, I bought a jigsaw puzzle at the dollar store. (It cost me $18). It's very pretty, but I haven't had the energy or inclination to open and start it.

What do you like to do?
