Hi F43 -
A jigsaw puzzle sounds like a great idea, just the right combination of engagement but
low stimulation. I think I am my own worst enemy when it comes to resetting my sleep
switch. I rarely have the will power to get up and actively do something. Sometimes I'll
turn on a night light and read, it helps to have something easy but entertaining -- John
Grisham (my wife makes fun of me about this) or CJ Box. Sometimes I'll drag myself out of
bed and sit in a comfy chair and listen to music on my ipod.
Often I'll bounce around between 2 different beds -- and a tent I used to have semi-
permanently pitched in the garden -- in my attempts to sleep. For some reason the
"change of scenery" seems to help. I've always slept better in a tent.
Unfortunately, I'll mostly just lie there, determined and unsuccessful, drooling into my
pillow.
