Just to add to my note above ...

So you know where I am coming from, I did at one point get a referral to a sleep clinic (around the time I finally took my sick leave) -- they told me they did not need to do a sleep study on me, as they didn't need to test whether I was sleeping or not. It was evident to them that I wasn't sleeping. The only thing they could recommended was to try sleep restriction. One tip I learned from a book was to try to increase the amount of time within a day where you don't allow yourself to lie down and rest (true insomniacs can't even take a nap, which was my case). So you decide not to lie down between six and eight o'clock in the evening. Then you increase that zone to six and ten o'clock, etc. This did help in eventually consolidating my sleep somewhat, but what really accelerated the re-establishment of much more reliable, healthy, and deep sleep patterns were the HIVOX Dreamate device and that CD "Tranquil Sleep."

(Excuse the typos in the first posting ... I am actually a good speller!)
