I have the same concerns about SR-and it causes me a lot of confusion (which is not good for insomniacs!)

On the one hand, it seems the last thing I need is more focus on sleep. Obsession plays a role in perpetuating my insomnia, so precise sleep logs and attention to detail can seem pretty counterproductive to getting a good night's sleep.

On the other hand, research does show (and many on this board attest to) that SR improves sleep for most people. Since I was coming off the Remeron, I wanted to give myself the best shot at success. SR gave me the structure so that I didn't have to improvise.

I think the bottom line is that recovery is a very personal journey. We can support each other and sympathize, but ultimately, we have to decide what will work best for us, given our particular personality and situation.
