Hi Lulubelle-
Your symptoms sounds frustrating. I'm thankful I often get a full nights sleep.

We do sound like polar opposites! I rarely fall asleep quickly and if I haven't fallen asleep
with a couple of hours I'm often shot for the night. If I sleep initially and wake up I never
have a problem going back to sleep.

I believe onset is also related to anxiety but it's weird and interesting how our symptoms
manifest themselves in such different ways. My anxiety is highest at bedtime, not knowing
whether I'll sleep or not -- and the more tired I am the more anxious I become (hence I'm
not a big fan of SR). If I wake in the middle of the night having slept, it seems like the
sleep has calmed my body down; I'm no longer in a state of hyper-arousal so its easy to
fall back asleep.
