So then, what techniques do you use to manage your stress? Do you have a tension point in your body that signals it's rising and you need to chill out? I'm getting better at not running up the stress meter to the point where I can't get it down for weeks. My danger sign is a huge surge of adrenaline following a strong emotional response (e.g. anger). I'm learning to take myself in hand and say, "Anger's not an emotion you can afford to indulge in," and then get some exercise to give the adrenaline an outlet. I think I produce too much adrenaline too readily.

On a related note, I've noticed a little bit of depression creep in over the last two weeks. It's totally fine (and expected given some things I've been through). In fact, it's a relief. But it's having an interesting effect on my sleep! I'm more relaxed during the day (this is why it's welcome) and I'm sleeping better. I'm falling asleep more easily with a small amount of Z, and I'm sleeping solidly through the night until the morning.
