Thanks MKO...you're a peach! I may try the 12-6 in a week or even a few days. I just think I need more structure than I am getting now. Last night (still on my "go to bed when I am tired" schedule) I didn't fall asleep until 12:00 (my normal is around 10:00) and slept until 4:00 then got out of bed. Night before last was 10:00 to 4:30 with all kinds of broken sleep through the night - averaged about 5 hours total. Like you said, I will have to tough it out for a week or so until my body gets used to the schedule. Right now it has no clue what it is supposed to do. I thought I had a sleep maintenance probelms but now am beginning to wonder.
