Each of us can only present our own truth and this is the case for Tom N Texas, as well as everyone else. I think we, as readers, have to find the people on the Forum whose ideas resonate within us and interact with them, while avoiding those whose comments evoke negative feelings.

As for prayer, I certainly understand your viewpoint, Jackson, because I've often felt the futility of my own. However, coping with insomnia demands that we use all the psychological, physical, intellectual and spiritual tools at our disposal and for those who are religiously inclined, a discussion of prayer may certainly be helpful....especially when those prayers don't seem to be answered. Understanding prayer from a variety of perspectives, other than..."please give me...." is useful and comforting.

Again, on our own, we have to determine which people editfy and empower us and which do not.
