puzzled about erratic sleep

I'm puzzled because the night before last, I slept almost 7 hours. I was delighted. When I went to bed last night, I was cheerful and optimistic. Maybe I was making real progress! Maybe this was the beginning of the end! I wasn't nervous at all when I went to bed.

You guessed it...I slept only two hours.

I am feeling very dis-spirited this morning. Has this happened to anyone else?
