I meant that anti-depressants usually kick in after 4-6 weeks. That's how long it took for Paxil to be effective for me. It didn't make me sleepy...it helped with anxiety.

Older antidepressants like Remeron and Trazodone or even Elavil make you sleepy from the very beginning, but, the anti-depressant aspect of the medication takes longer to be effective....again, 4-6 weeks. That's what I'm told anyway....

So, I just thought...hmmm...maybe 4-6 weeks is how long it takes the brain to adjust to medications. This is my own theory. I don't know whether it is true or not.
