Tom,

Glad to see you on here today. I am actually terrified right now. The
only med I have ever used to sleep is xanax and it is only giving me 3
to 5 hours sleep. This started one week ago when I woke up in the
middle of the night and pondered whether to take one of my wife's
xanax. I did and then obsessively waited to see if it worked. It
didn't. Now I am compulsively taking them every night and then getting
depressed before I try to go to bed. But I have talked myself into an
alternative of not sleeping at all. I want desperately to give it all
up and just go to sleep tonight with no drugs. My GP has called in
Zoloft for me. I am not even depressed though besides the sleep
issues. So I am not going to take that. Dude how did you get better
with no medication. I really wish I could chat with you. Like you I
have given up. I have no intention to take medicine tonight. But I
need to be at work tomorrow and I am terrified of getting 0 hours
sleep. How did you spend your evenings when you were sleep deprived
and facing a possible all-nighter? How did you cope? And advice would
be welcome. Also did drugs not work very well for you either?
