Unless the definition has changed, EDS doesn't require someone to fall asleep. Just having difficulty maintaining alertness during the day can qualify.
Remember EDS is just a word, how you feel during the day and what is causing it is more important.
EDS is due to sleep deprivation, and sleep loss accumalates over time making it difficult to catch up on sleep quickly.
The most common causes of sleep deprivation are not giving yourself enough time to get the sleep you need and sleep disorders.
When you had your MSLT, did you have a study the night before and if so were the results normal?
Best wishes,
