Posted by optimistic on November 17, 2009 at 17:52:50:Say, I was wondering about something - most of us have runaway thoughts at times when we are trying to sleep etc - we worry about whether we are going to sleep etc.
For the first time in my life I took out a CD audio on a novel to listen to - I put in my earplugs and once a day I will lay down and just listen to the story - my question is this - do you find "listening to a book is more beneficial to relax or reading a book" - I went through this book a lot faster on audio I believe - but am thinking that soon when I cannot sleep at night maybe plugging in to a nice novel would take my mind off myself better than if I just read a book.
I'm sure many of you have tried audio books - which do you find to be more beneficial?
Now it is recommended not to get anything too exciting of course - this was a Danielle Steele novel - "The House" - interesting - I guess it has to be interesting enough to get our minds off our sleeping issues but not too exciting to keep us awake.
Anyway, I have found her novel interesting enough to keep my attention - I only have one more CD to listen to and will be finished with the book.
I mentioned it once to some friends and they say you read so fast and so good those audios are only for people who cannot read or have bad eyesight. I'm not sure - what is your opinion.
Thanks for listening.
