electracat,
You said:
So, it's almost as if i need to practice TWO things: 1) i am ok if i don't sleep (i've NEVER
been ok with that!!!!) and 2) I'm ok with the anxiety (that is newer, and something i never
thought i'd have to practice being ok with...For item #1, I think it's unreasonable and a losing battle trying to be OK with not sleeping. What I think you need to do is be OK with not being OK with it, if that makes any sense. Sure you're going to be a little miserable and anxious if you don't sleep, that's just the way it is so don't fight it. What you can do is constantly deal with the thoughts as they arise and do the things I mentioned in the earlier post.
If the body symptoms of anxiety (heart pounding, limbs tingling, etc) are bothering you and exacerbating the whole situation, talk to your doctor about Propranolol as needed. It's a beta blocker which works great to minimize the physical symptoms.
