Please keep trying. The first few nights will be the hardest. The thing with the program is to try to make you as tired as possible so that you will fall asleep quickly for whatever amount of time you allow yourself to sleep. Once you start doing that, you can increase your time. The whole thing is about confidence and re-assuring yourself that you can sleep as you once did. I was incredibly stubborn and it took me about a week of only getting about 4 hours per night. I started getting better and now I sleep about 7-8 hours. When I run into problems, I cut my time in bed again until it passes. Remember, get up at the same time every day. No matter how much sleep you got the night before. No naps. Don't worry with relaxation techniques if they don't work for you. Don't even try to go to sleep when you get into bed. Just lie there and relax and enjoy the pleasure of lying down in a comfortable bed. If you can't fall asleep, get up for a while and then try again later. Your body will fight harder and harder to get the sleep it needs. You have to restrict it to sleep when you want it to. Keep us posted. You can do it!
