There isn't an organization called the AMA that would look into anything. The ADA is the Americans with Disabilities Act which is a Federal law passed during the Bush Administration. The ADA is enforced by the Federal courts. The Federal Agency that enforces the law is the Department of Labor. They should have a web site at www.labor.gov or something like that. There are plenty of books on the ADA; simply search on Amazon.
Whether a sleep problem would qualify as a diability under the ADA, I have no idea. There is very specific requirements which you can get from either the Department of Labor web site or a good book on the ADA. Good luck.
