I am not too comfortable with this depression lable. Perhaps someone is really depressed, and that does cause sleep problems, but I have yet to understand how depression affects sleep. In fact, if someone is depressed, wouldn't that result in better sleep. It seems all too convenient for a doctor to diagnose a sleep problem and prescribe pills - addictive pills. Perhaps there is another problem. Perhaps there is a thyroid problem. Perhaps there is a sleep hygiene problem such as the problems described in desparately seening snoozin. For example, if someone gets up at 6:00 a.m., and needs 7 hours of sleep, the person should go to sleep at 11:00 p.m., but if the person is tired then perhaps they will lie down at 9:00 a.m., which is two hours too early. Read this book before you do too much of anything else. It might not help, but it will certainly give you some good ideas before you go see the doctor next. Good luck and god bless!
