Problem waking too early with sunrise

Posted by mark on August 01, 2000 at 12:31:05:

I have had a problem for years where I wake up too early
with the sunrise. This is obviously a bigger problem in
Summer than in Winter when I sleep better. In Summer I
might wake at 5am with sunrise then can't get back to sleep.
I have tried putting blinds over the window but even a small
chink of light is enough to wake me. This time of year
(July) I'm having real problems getting enough sleep.

Anyone have this problem/aware of this problem ?
Can anyone suggest a solution ?

An archived message - forum4a/messages/185.html - suggests
that humans might be designed to sleep when it's dark
and wake when it's light. Sounds logical to me. Can anyone shed light on this ? (excuse pun ;-> ) Anyone aware of any research done on this ?

Mark
