Hi, Karin,
I know exactly what you are on about. I am in my eary 30's and have had sleeping problems for the past 6 years. I can go by several days without sleep, much to the amazement of my family. I can still hold down a full time job. But in the beginning it was rough. I have tried every pill on the market, and melationin in many mg's and valerian and so on. For me the only thing I found could give me at least 5-6 hrs sleep most nights was Doxepin, which is an anti-depressant with very good sleeping qualities.
I know nobody wants to take anti-depressants because we are not depressed people, but at least if the side-effect of the pill would put you to sleep, it's better than nothing at all.
Good Luck
