Insomnia and weight gain

Posted by Katherine on October 26, 2000 at 19:50:35:

Does anyone have information on insomnia and that it can cause you to get fat. I have had chronic insomnia for 4 years now and I have gained about 25lbs. Could this be due to the fact that now and then I use an anti-depressant to help me sleep, but never more than one a week. The rest of the week I suffer in silence. The anti-depressant I rarely use is doxepin.Or does your body automatically slow down without sleep.
Any info please.
