Dramamine for insomnia?

I tried Benadril for insomnia and it did not help at all. I wonder if someone tried Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) for insomnia? Dramamine is the medication to treat the motion sickness. One of the side effects of Dramamine is drowsiness which,I think, is good if you take it before going to bed.
