RE: POSSIBLE CURE TO INSOMNIA VIA PILLS

Posted by adam on November 05, 2000 at 13:38:02:

I just wanted to post this message as it may help you with your problem. Please note this is from my own experiences and there are no guarantees that it will work for you.

I have insomnia for over 4 years now. It started when I was 26 and it happened more or less over night. I have been trying different methods to deal with my problem and it is only now that my insomnia is under control and i'am now able to move forward.

After seeing doctor after doctor, sleep clinics, phsycologists, self help books and all the rest. The anwswer for me was ending up at a day clinic for mental health which gave me all the above mentioned facilities under one roof. I say this was very fortunate and a tribute to the National Health Service in the UK.

So after trying many different medications to resolve my sleep problem is was finaly put on Paroxetine Hydrochloride 20mg increased to 30mg (Generic name - Seroxate)

This may be sufficent enough for some people but it may be increased up to 50mg.

This takes about 6/8 weeks before you really feel the benefit and in the meantime I took Zimovane 7.5mg (Generic name in the US i belive is Zoloft) along side the new pill until it was working well in my system.

Then as the sleeping pill, Zimovane becomes adictive/reliant I then took Diazepan 5mg(Generic name - Valium) and slowly over 4 weeks reduced that by 1mg until the last week when I came off them completely which was at 2mg.

Now the Paroxetine works alone and is less harmeful, give you a natural sleep and I feel like a new person. This will in time be reduced to down to 20mg, 10mg and so on.

REMEMBER: This was persribed to me by a Doctor and under his supervision. So if you think that this may help you please talk this over with your Doctor first.

If you would like any more information about this or wish to share, question anything, please contact me at my email address :- asherridan@hotmail.com

Good luck to you all and best wishes

Adam
