I don't know about zoloft, but I know that cozaar, a drug for high blood pressure, can possibly cause a condition known as angioedema.

One of the symptoms of that condition is a tightening in the throat, also swelling of lips and hives. You might want to do some research on angioedema, and also check the Physicians Desk Reference to see if angioedema is a possible side effect of zoloft.
