I had a similar problem with my young son, and I believe it was due to his cutting molars; although he was slightly older (15 months): we gave him Motrin before bedtime as this last 6 to 8 hours. Also, you said she sleeps for 3 hours during the day--this may be too much sleep. I would try to wake her up after an hour or so. There is a great book called "How to Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems" by Richard Ferber. This book helped us recognize our son's problem and instructed us how to handle it. By the third night, he was sleeping soundly. Good luck.
