HPA axis dysfunction and alpha-delta anomaly

Posted by Bellamy on March 16, 2001 at 15:52:53:

Through relentless research, I learned there are two prominent reasons why I was not sleeping well, and never hitting stage 3 or 4 sleep.

1) HPA axis (hypothalmic-pituitary-adrenal axis) dysfunction. Just one of the effects is that cortisol levels are high when they should be low, and the reverse.

2) alpha-delta anomaly, where you wake up when you hit delta stage.

A peek on any search engine, using those keywords, will bring up tons of documentation.

Another gem I stumbled across was that if you're not remembering your dreams, you're not absorbing B6.

Addressing all those aspects, I am finally starting to remember my dreams, sleep thru the night, and awaken refreshed!

Feel free to write me, whether you'd like to see my research, or just want to chat about it.
