I have used as much as 100mg of trazadone and have had minimal to no sleep. It does seem to work for some people as per prevoius posts to this forum. However, to much seretonin may actually be a hinderance to sleep eg. other anitdepressants Zoloft and Prozac are often recommended to be taken early in the day and are often prescribed with a benodiazapinde med to better activate the GABA neurotransmiters which help shut down the brains RAS system. I am now experimenting with L-glutamine , a simple nutritional supplement (non essential amino acid up to 6grams a day in 3 doses especially on days when I have hard workouts in the gym) which can cross the blood brain barrier to form Glutamic acid which is the precursor for GABA (gamma amino butyric acid)in the brain. This defininetly causes a relaxation effect for me but not always sleep.
