coming off imovane - pls help

Posted by justme on March 20, 2001 at 07:26:34:

i've been taking imovane (zopiclone) for over a year now...
fairly low doses @ this pt (.375), as i'm trying to wean myself off completely. i've tried just stopping cold turkey, but the withdrawal symptoms are HORRIBLE, not to mention scary & exhausting. i thought i had it in me to just stop and tolerate any side-effects that might occur...but now i'm rethinking this plan.
anyone out there who's taken imovane nightly for some time and has stopped: please help me out here? what is the best way to stop taking it w/o all those nasty s.effects.
i guess tapering the doses gradually down to nothing, but
then, does this really have to be a long process in itself??
and after you finally stopped taking it altogether, how was
your sleep? energy level? emotional state?
thanks so much.
