newly marrieds fighting over fan

I am newly married and trying to adjust to living with my new husband. He insists on sleeping with a fan at the bedside because it helps him relax and sleep better. I can't stand the wind it creates, and I find the noise irritating. I like peace and quiet, but he says complete silence makes him restless and nervous. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can reach a compromise. This conflict is causing too much friction in the bedroom.
