I've been taking remeron for 2 weeks and am sleeping better than I have in years. For me 30 mg seems to work best, about one hour before bed. Besides sleeping well I also feel very active throughout the day. I have gained a few pounds but this might be attributed to my increased appetite, which had declined during a long period of insomnia/daytime fatigue. So far this is the only med which has given me both good sleep and less daytime fatigue.Had tried paxil, trazadone, ambien, etc. i think many people who are diagnosed as depressed, really have an anxiety problem. Anxiety can lead to insomnia, daytime fatigue etc, which can lead to depression. Its hard for a Dr to determine what problem precipitated the others.
