I totally understand about the Ambien thing. I have a relativly understanding DR. who has put me on almost every med out there. I am currently taking a combo of Ambien, half a xanax and an Ativan to help me get to sleep. I have to make sure that the pills are taken on an empty stomach for optimum absorbtion. The sad truth (as I view it) is that these types of medications are the only things that do work at all for us truly chronic insomniacs. As tolerance goes up, I force myslef to go med free for a few days and nites, then start them again. I am still waiting for the miricle sleep solution.
