Posted by Eliza on May 22, 2001 at 06:16:39:

Hey, i am a 15 year old girl who lives in Australia, i have a fear and this fear is sleep. im afraid when i go to sleep im not going to wake up.. ive always been a restless sleeper when i was little, tossing and turning legs going everywhere and when i was 10 i had this fear but it went way. this problem has really started to get bad in the past 9 months. It is so bad im afraid to sleep by myself in my room, incase something/someone breaks in and kills me in my sleep or i die in my sleep and never wake up. its not that i dont enjoy to sleep, cause god knows everyone does.. its just im so afraid and then this fear leads to a massive anxiety attack.. and its really hard. i dont know what to do anymore and im just wondering if anyone has this problem, OR suggestions on what i can do to help myself, i felt as if ive lost all control over this sleep matter.. im a wreck and im so scared at night to sleep.. i cry everynight before i go to bed because this fear is SO intense.i feelbad cause im ripping my family apart because they are all so stressed and i dont know what to do anymore.. please someone can u help me... please?
