Right on, Roger. I didn"t know there was a name for it..hypnophobia. I'll have to look it up..I agree that it is the fear of loss...period:be it control, memory, death of a sibling,self,whatever. When one then becomes preoccupied with sleep when we know how important it is, the fear of loss of sleep takes on exaggerated proportions...the proverbial cat chasing its tail. Problem is...how does one solve it? How long have you known the cause of your insomnia and how do you cope with it? It's really wearing me down..
