Take your money and throw it into the nearest river. That's what you're doing when you buy over the counter stuff. They're the biggest ripoff since the first time somebody tried to sell the Brooklyn Bridge.

You're very limited in what you can put into a drug and still be able to sell it without a prescription. Those OTC preparations are nothing but anithistimines. Unless you have a cold, you have no reason to take antihistimines. The sleepiness is merely a side effect of the cold meds. That's why the instructions on Contac and stuff say not to drive or operate machinery.

So the companies that market this stuff are selling their product based on a side effect. And like any drug, you build up tolerance after a while.
