I assume that the two back to back postings from Sleep Deprived are one and the same person. I'm sure most if not all the great people who respond to this forum know how you feel but I will comment only for myself and tell you that I DO know how you feel. When I first found this forum my immediate reaction was much like yours...why is sleep disorder such a taboo topic so that as you said we hide it from most others. I think our big error is in assuming that everyone else is perfect...maybe they can sleep but you can be sure there is some other problem. Of course, for the insomniac there seems to be no worse problem but I think others think of their problem the same way. I am tired(no pun intended) of the stigma associated with poor sleep and since good sleep is so important for good health, I can't believe that more attention and research isn't going into it. For now just take comfort in the fact that you have somewhere to go and voice your concerns and KNOW that they will not only be heard but understood without judgment as well.
