Anita,

Thanks for all the info. In answer to your question, I did eventually put a lock on my door, but the door moulding was cracked from when I had slammed the door in my brother's face once, so it was a simple matter for him to slide a knife in between the moulding and door jamb and open up the door. I eventually put a deadbolt on and that did work. Anyhow, I tried the earplug thing last night (even though once I'm asleep, the sensitivity to noise diminshes somewhat, a little bit of progress). However, I still didn't sleep all that well.I think it was because I'd tried the earplug thing before and they had fallen out, so on some unconscious level, I was trying to remain awake enough that I could keep them in (I move around a LOT in my sleep). I've tried having the whole "I'm going to sleep and not stress about it" atitude with varying degrees of success. You'd think I'd be over it now, as I haven't lived with my brother since 1994, but sometimes little noises will still wake me up. The biggest one is my cell phone beeping because the battery is low and I forgot to charge it. It's not loud at all, but it'll wake me up out of a dead sleep, so I turned that feature off. I live with my sister now (just the two of us, no parents), and she has some clothes and stuff in one of my closets. She comes in here most mornings at 3:30 AM or so (she works at 4:00) to get clothes and this no longer wakes me up. How do I apply this to a broader situation? I've included my e-mail address up top. I've got some other questions as well that I'd rather not clutter up the forum with, so I hope to hear from you. Thanks.
