I did respond to your original question somewhere, now I cannot find it. Sticking to a schedule works really well for me. I made a decision to trust what Jacobs book says is true, because what I was doing before was horrible. Getting up at 6:15 on the weekends was hard, but the program is working for me. The main thing is that it has reduced my fear about not sleeping. Tha example of the guy who didn't sleep for over a week without harm was helpful. I believed that one day I would lose the ability to sleep and die or go crazy. Dr Jacobs says that will not happen! I also go to therapy every week and attend A.A. meetings. This strong support has helped to reduce the anxiety that sometimes has kept me awake. The reality is that I may always have this problem, but it is more manageable now. Everything I have done to try to help myself has gotten me to a place where the book can help me. Good luck to you.
