At one point my insomnia was so bad that if I didn't at least get bodily rest I don't know how I would have survived. Somehow with the aid of occasional meds I was able to get on some kind of a schedule. I've always been an owl(love being up late and hate getting up early) so I don't fight it anymore. I get to bed somewhere between 2to3 am and get up between 10 to 11am. I take no meds now and sleep about 7 hours. If I may recommend one of the spiritual books I read (given to me by a friend) it's "The Sermon on the Mount" by Emmet Fox. Don't let the title fool you...it's amazing. Oh yes, I do take Marsha's hot toddy (check her posting) and something's working because I've lost my anxiety over sleep and just feel I want to help others...Don't worry Sandman and Sandmama I'm not after your job, haha! Seriously, though, Adrienne, I lost my sense of humor for that year I couldn't sleep and somebody on a posting way way back mentioned how important it was to keep a sense of humor and I'm glad mine is finally back but believe me I am not insensitive to our plight. I think I got more in the positive thinking chapter in Dr. Jacobs' book than in the sleep restriction section but to be honest I wasn't faithful to the diary keeping, etc. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Sweet dreams!!!
