Hi folks,
I agree with sleepychick about the Paxil. The side-effects DO go away for lots of people. I have very few problems with them now (including the sexual side-effects).
I'm taking 15 mg/day. Both sleepychick and I are on pretty low doses -- as an antidepressant it's usually prescribed at 20 or 30 mg. It took a while before I noticed positive effects but SOMETHING is helping me to stop obsessively thinking and worrying about sleep. I thought my doc was NUTS to prescribe Paxil, and even took a psych evaluation that demonstrated I showed zero signs of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Now I've seen that it is being used to help with sleep problems and can actually work.
I'm still taking clonazepam nightly but have been tapering successfully. Over the past week I reduced from 0.375 to about 0.25 mg as of last night. Had decent sleep (even though my husband was being a 'Mexican Jumping Bean' all night) and only teensy smidgeons of anxiety from withdrawal.
I also agree that a sense of humor is a GREAT sign that this isn't bringing you down too much. Keep it up!
A.N.
