Hi Jade..There is really not a specific diet for insomia but the best thing would be to eat whole foods and not too many processed foods. Avoid all drinks that are loaded with sugar as juices and carbonated sodas. Stay away from caffeine. And what I think you are interested in, which someone mentioned previously is to eat foods that naturally contain an essential amino acid called tryptophan. The foods that are rich in tryptophan would be almonds and walnuts, tuna, chicken, turkey and milk products. Tryptophan turns into serotonin and than melatonin which is a hormone essential to sleep. A good snack at night an hour before bed would be a small turkey sandwich on whole grain bread and a cup of warm milk with honey. Try it..Might seduce you into sleep!!!Hope
